Venturing into a whole new experience, our expectations were exceeded by the hospitality of the community that we are going to stay in. We have been housed at the Barangay Hall itself so that we will have the comforts that we were used to as we fulfil our purpose in serving then community as medical students and future doctors. On our first few weeks, we were able to meet with the different barangay officials and purok leaders; we were also able to make our courtesy calls to the local officials and the municipality as well as to the Municipal Health Center. As we built rapport with them, we introduced the nature of our purpose that we will initialize via the house-to-house survey. As we conducted our ocular surveys before our house-to-house survey proper, we were accompanied by the barangay’s CVOs and we were able visit and locate the boundaries of each purok for the devising of our spot map. Secondary data were also collected at the Municipal office. To make the immersion holistic and productive, other activities were also carried out.
